SSUSA has better online features that the other associations, (IE message board, online registration is easier etc) but.... They will not show the teams entered in a tournament. I guess they are worried that teams will complain or drop out etc, but I say show the teams and let who wants to play get in. Why worry about a couple of teams that cause trouble instead of making things better for larger % of teams that play? I have talked to other coaches and players and they would like to see who is in the tournament. They also might be a team or 2 that will enter because they see there are more than a couple of teams in their bracket. You never can tell until you try. SPA and ISSA have a list of registered teams on their websites for the tournaments. SPA shows they teams entered as soon and they pay. (I like this the best) ISSSA shows the teams after the deadline, but at least they show who is entered. Please give your opinion if you would like to see the teams that are entered as they get in. I vote to see who's in.. We are playing no matter who is in or not. I just like to be informed. Just my 2 cents worth. Brett

I like the idea of being able to determine who is attending beforehand.
Would I would really like to see, however, is a mechanism by which teams, in planning their seasons, could coordinate with other teams and create well-attended tournaments. One way to do this would be via a website that was searchable by tournament and divisions on which teams could post their planned schedule together with contact information for the manager. You could search prospective tournaments in your area to determine planned attendance. Then managers could coordinate and adjust schedules to create better attended tournaments.
Let's say my team is planning on attending a tournament in Cullman, AL on a given weekend. I search the website and find out there are three other teams planning on attending that tournament, but I also find that there are four teams in our same classification planning to attend one in Gadsden, AL a week later. Coaches could coordinate with each other and potentially adjust their schedules so that we could have a tournament with a much better eight team bracket. All this would have to be done fairly early in the year so that schedules, travel plans, and vacations could be set.
Obviously, the sanctioning organizations are not interested in providing a venue whereby teams might opt for another organizations tourney. Such a website would almost have to be put together independent of the organizations. I lack the technical expertise to put this together but I wish someone would.
Thoughts?
